Monuments (Rushmore & Crazy Horse)
and an old Stone
This stone, with writting scratched on both sides, tells the story of its author, Ezera Kind. He writes the names of all in his party, says they filled thier ponies with gold, but now are all dead and that he is out of water and bullets. In his own way, he lives forever. This stone used to be displayed outside (in nearby Spearfish) on a hillside opposite where it was found. A big X marked the spot it on a distant hill. |

This sign, Joe's favorite number, was hanging in the little breakfast place we stopped: the Sugar Shack. Where's the Packer bar? |
