Ollantaytambo

The site, the village and the mountian with the carved face.

As the sign says, this is the site Ollantaytambo and it faces the carved mountian. The Inka designed village lays between the site and the carved mountian.

This is the side of the mountian the terraces are built into. Near the top is the temple of the sun, which on the equonoix sees the sun clear the mountian at precsicely the right place. It served as a calender.

Who is that red figure on the top (right)? Is it superman?

Or a guy in a red plastic poncho.

Here's a closer look at the the temple complex on the side of the site.

Here I am at the rebuilt Inka house, the village is in the background.

The village had all kinds of tourist attractions.

Here Kimberly shows off her new felt hat.

This carved mountian shows the priest's face, hat and hehas a bag over his shoulder.

This shows us the village and the carved face mountian.

A better view of the village on the same site since the time of the Inkas.

This monolyth may have been a doorway header.

Kim on a terrace. Look closely and you can see each wall is eight feet tall.
