See the line of pink? That's flamigos - thousands of them - waiting for us to take thier picture.

Our guide said it was called a ria not a rio because it was saltwater from the ocean.

It's not just unbelievable nature and beauty, its a lot of birds and mangroves.

Don't run over the birds!

A pelican's bill holds more than his belly can!

Have you ever heard that one?

Too Many Herons!

The mangroves were like another world.

Mangroves make you crazy - who's taking my picture?

The fishermen stand in the water and pull their nets.

Kimberly at the beach.

Heavily armed soldiers also walked the beach. We didn't take their picture. We also didn't take any pictures of any of the law enforcement folks - most of whom had snazzy uniforms which did not fit them.

Also we did not get to take a picture of a PEMEX gas staion, they always have at least a couple of people hanging around, in uniform, waiting to pump your gas, as one driver told us - "You have your choice - Pemex or Pemex."
